Acquisition costs, known as "notary fees"

Fees paid to the notary by the buyer upon signing the deed of sale. Acquisition costs are made up of the notary's fees (the famous "notary fees"), but also a set of taxes, duties and various charges that the notary collects on behalf of various administrations.

💡In 2022, acquisition costs represented about 8% of the sale price for an existing home, and between 2 and 3% for a new property.
